Around the Block With Dorothy Halvorson PM Monthly Club Meeting We had a very good turnout, 31, for our November luncheon meeting last November 9. This was our last meeting of the year. We will have the annual Christmas party on December 7 at 6:00 p.m. So please remember to come. There’s lots of food and music, too. Our president Dorothy Johnson had an eye surgery so Arlene McCloud, our treasurer, presided over the meeting. We pledged to the Flag and sang God Bless America accompanied on the piano by Rosita Cruz. She played some other music too and some of the attendees sang all along. We sang Happy Birthday to Fred Fernandez, Ruby Marie Chan and Dorothy D’Cruz who celebrated their birthdays on Nov. 6th, 11th, and 1st, respectively. Our tables were set up so nice in honor of Thanksgiving Day and the center pieces were set out real neat. Jerry Cohen gave a reading, Connie Bravo recited a poem, and Arlene read a piece for Thanksgiving Day. Our next meeting will be on Jan. 11, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. this time instead of 11:30 a.m. I want to say thank you Rosita Cruz for playing all the music at the meeting. Thank you all for coming. Upcoming Events Christmas Party - Dec. 7, 2006. Dinner served. New Year’s Eve Pot Luck - Please bring a dish and be sure to come out to greet the New Year. |
