PM Residents Celebrate Christmas 2006 Residents of Parthenia Manor in Panorama City celebrated an early Christmas party on December 7 at the Recreation Room of the complex on Parthenia Street with 56 people attending the program which lasted for almost three hours. PM manager Donna Weaver welcomed the PM residents to the yearly Christmas shindig sponsored by PM management. Entertainment numbers were provided by Clarence Ulrich, former vocalist who The Drifters. Ulrich has been performing at the PM Christmas party for almost a decade since he retired from The Drifters. The affable singer rendered popular Christmas songs such as Blue Christmas, Silver Bells, Jingle Bells, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, I’m Dreaming White Christmas and his signature interpretation of Silent Night with audience joining in the singing. As one of the lead vocalists for the world famous Drifters, Ulrich enjoyed 27 wonderful years entertaining the world over. After retiring in 1991 he has performed 5000 shows as a one-man act for seniors and special interest groups. The Filipino tenants of PM rendered a medley of Philippine Christmas songs in Tagalog while a member of the Romanian group sang a Romanian Christmas number. A volunteer group made up of Dorothy Johnson, Arlene McCloud, Bernie Henning, Dorothy D’Cruz, Dorothy Halvorson, Christina Labrador, Jane Mamangon, Jerry Cohen, Frank Paynter, James Helm, Leandro Villanueva took charge of cleaning and decorating the room. Jerry Cohen designed the table arrangement and wall decoration. |
